RCEP Think Tank Network Officially Established
High-level implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and full release of the RCEP dividend will not only have a significant impact on the regional economic integration and regional economic growth, but also make important contributions to the world economic recovery and global economic re-balancing. Against this backdrop, China Institute for Reform and Development and the East Asian Institute of the National University of Singapore jointly proposed to initiate an RCEP Think Tank Network (hereinafter referred as “the Network”) , which has attracted positive responses and active participation from 13 think tanks from 9 RCEP member countries.
On September 23, 2022, the RCEP Think Tank Network Launching Meeting is held both in Haikou and online.
Representatives from 13 founding members of the Network, including Institute of China Studies, Royal Academy of Cambodia, Asian Vision Institute, Cambodia, China Institute for Reform and Development, China Oceanic Development Foundation, Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Development Research Centre of China Daily, Japan Economic Foundation, East Asia Foundation, Korea, China Studies Center, National University of Laos, Centre for New Inclusive Asia, Malaysia, East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore, Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University, Thailand, Institute for Southeast Asian Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and special invited guests and representatives of media participated in the Network launching meeting.
Documents including Joint Initiative to Launch a RCEP Think Tank Network, RCEP Think Tank Network Charter and Proposed Framework of Exchanges and Cooperative Activities for The RCEP Think Tank Network are discussed and agreed upon, and then the establishment of the RCEP Think Tank Network is officially announced at the Network’s launching meeting.
