On 29 March 2023, “2023 Boao · Breakfast Meeting” was hosted by ASEAN-HNFTP Think Tank Network and jointly organized by China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) and Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies, under the theme of “Strengthen Regional Linkages and Interactions & Tap New Space for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and ASEAN”.

E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn (Secretary-General of ASEAN), Prof. Chi Fulin (President of China Institute for Reform and Development, President of Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies), Prof. Zhang Yuyan (Director of Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Member of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) and Prof. Zheng Yongnian (Presidential Chair Professor, the Founding Director of the Advanced Institute of The Institute for International Affairs, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen; Chairman of the board of the Guangzhou Institute of GBA) exchanged views on topics include “China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation: Trends and Prospects” and “Deepening China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation & the Role of Hainan FTP”.

H.E. Hou Yanqi (Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to ASEAN) and Ms. Fang Hong (Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China) also attended the meeting.
