On April 14, during the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo, China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) and Nanfang Media Group co-hosted a research release event, organized by Southern Weekly, to unveil new findings on China’s consumption development in 2025. With the theme “In Resonance with the Times”, the event gathered representatives from government, academia, and industry to explore key topics such as stimulating consumption and comprehensively expanding domestic demand, and new consumption patterns, business formats, and emerging trends. The discussions focused on issues of widespread concern, including upgrading China’s consumption structure and effectively boosting consumer demand.

At the event, the CIRD research team released the report titled “Unleashing the Potential of Service Consumption — 2025 China Consumption Research Report”.
