On the morning of August 29, Yang Rui, Executive President of China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) and President of RCEP Research Institute, led a delegation to the ASEAN Secretariat for exchanges. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of the ASEAN Secretariat, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. The two sides held discussions on topics including China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation, upgrading and institutionalization of RCEP implementation, and the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Also attending the meeting were Oscar Fernando and Arief Rizky Bakhtiar, Senior Officers of the ASEAN Economic Community Department at the ASEAN Secretariat; Chen Wei and Kuang Xianming, Vice Presidents of CIRD; Guo Da, Executive President of Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies (HIFTPS); Wang Hongsen, Secretary General of HIFTPS; and Wang Yuehong, Assistant Researcher of RCEP Research Institute, CIRD.
