President Chi Fulin Attends the 25th Anniversary Commemoration of the Boao Forum for Asia and Delivers Remarks
On the afternoon of March 24, 2026, the 25th anniversary commemoration of the Boao Forum for Asia was held in Boao, Hainan. Professor Chi Fulin, President of China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) and President of Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies (HIFTPS), was invited to attend the event and deliver remarks.

In his remarks, Prof. Chi Fulin reviewed his participation in the annual conferences of the Boao Forum for Asia over the past 25 years, from its preparation to the present, and shared his reflections on its “international character, openness, and intellectual leadership”. First, on international character, he noted that being rooted in Asia while facing the world is a core strength of the Forum. Second, on openness, he emphasized that openness is the vitality of the Forum. Third, on intellectual leadership, he pointed out that it is the soul guiding the Forum’s high-quality development.
Prof. Chi Fulin stated that CIRD is willing to leverage its domestic and international academic networks, as well as its advantages in Hainan, to continue playing the role of a think tank in supporting the high-quality development of the Boao Forum for Asia.
Yang Rui, Executive President of CIRD, and Vice Presidents Chen Wei and Kuang Xianming also attended the event.
