Presideng Chi Fulin Meets with AMRO Director Yasuto Watanabe
On the morning of March 27, during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026, Professor Chi Fulin, President of China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD), met with Yasuto Watanabe, Director of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), at his invitation. The two sides exchanged views on topics including the development of RCEP, ASEAN+3 cooperation, the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, and think tank cooperation.

Participants from AMRO included Hideaki Hamada, Group Head of Strategy and Coordination, and Fu Chenxu, Economist. From CIRD and related institutions, attendees included Yang Rui, Executive President of CIRD; Kuang Xianming, Vice President of CIRD; Guo Da, Executive President of HIFTPS; Ong Chong Yi, Senior Research Fellow of HIFTPS and Representative to ASEAN; Liang Hui, Secretary General of CIRD-GRANDALL Center of FTP Law Studies; and Lin Fen, Project Officer for International Cooperation, CIRD.

The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), established in 2011, is a regional international organization set up under the ASEAN+3 financial cooperation framework, with its headquarters in Singapore. It is dedicated to strengthening macroeconomic and financial resilience and stability in the ASEAN+3 region, supporting the implementation of the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization (CMIM), and providing technical assistance.
