On the morning of April 16, 2026, Mr. Francis Fennelly, Economic Consul of the British Consulate-General Guangzhou, visited CIRD. Guo Wenqin, Vice President of Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies extended a warm welcome to Economic Consul Francis Fennelly and his delegations, and accompanied them on a tour of CIRD’s History Museum and Research Achievements on Hainan's Reform and Development Exhibition Hall. Guo Wenqin introduced CIRD's research on the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port. The two sides engaged in discussions on topics including the achievements of the Hainan Free Trade Port construction and think tank cooperation. 

Zhang Juan, Deputy Director of the Institute for History of Reform and Opening-up of CIRD, guided the tour of the CIRD’s History Museum and Research Achievements on Hainan's Reform and Development Exhibition Hall. Participants in the meeting included Bo Shui, Policy Officer of the British Consulate-General Guangzhou, Sunshine Zhang, Senior Trade & Investment Officer (Retail) of the British Consulate-General Guangzhou, Wang Hongsen, Director of the Research Department of Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies and Lin Fen, Project Specialist at the Center for International Cooperation of the Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies.
